Phone Setup Guide
Two ways to connect your church phone to your AI voice agent — call forwarding or a dedicated AI line
Every voice plan includes a dedicated AI phone number, shown in your admin dashboard under Settings. You have two ways to use it:
Option A: Forward Your Existing Number (Recommended)
Your congregation keeps calling the number they've always known. When no one answers, the AI picks up instead of voicemail. Members don't even know the AI exists — it just feels like someone always answers.
Best for: Most churches. Zero change for your congregation. No new number to publish.
How to set up: Your admin dashboard includes a carrier-specific guide under Settings > Call Forwarding. It covers AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Spectrum, Bell, Rogers, Telus, and VoIP systems like RingCentral and Vonage. Setup takes under 2 minutes.
Tip: Use "forward on no answer" (not "forward all calls") so your staff can still answer during office hours. The AI only picks up what you miss.
Option B: Publish Your AI Number as a Dedicated Care Line
Some churches want members to know about the AI and use it intentionally. You can publish your AI number alongside your main office number for specific purposes:
Use Cases
24/7 Prayer & Care Line Add to your bulletin, website, or care ministry materials: "Need prayer at 2am? Call or text our care line at (xxx) xxx-xxxx." The AI receives prayer requests, offers empathetic support, and notifies your prayer team — any hour, any day.
After-Hours Voicemail Alternative Update your office voicemail greeting: "For immediate help outside office hours, call our AI assistant at (xxx) xxx-xxxx." Callers get a warm, helpful conversation instead of a beep.
Visitor & Event Hotline Print a QR code on welcome cards, event flyers, or the Sunday bulletin that dials the AI number. First-time visitors can call to get directions, service times, parking info, or pre-register their kids — without waiting for office hours.
Website Click-to-Call Add a "Call our AI assistant" button to your website alongside the chatbot. Visitors who prefer voice over text can tap to call directly.
Text-Based Care Channel If SMS is enabled on your plan, publish the number for text-based prayer requests, questions, and event registration. Great for younger members who prefer texting.
Welcome Card / Connection Card Include the AI number on your physical or digital connection card: "Have questions after your visit? Call or text us anytime." Captures visitor intent when it's fresh.
Option C: Both
Most churches start with Option A (forwarding) and add Option B use cases over time as they see the value. There's no extra cost — your AI number handles both forwarded calls and direct calls.
Finding Your AI Number
Your dedicated AI phone number is displayed in your admin dashboard under Settings. It's provisioned automatically when you subscribe to any voice plan.
