Connecting Platforms
How to connect Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other social platforms to ShareWiseAI
ShareWiseAI supports 8 social media platforms. This guide explains how to connect each one and what to expect during the authorization process.
How Platform Connections Work
ShareWiseAI uses OAuth -- the industry-standard authorization protocol used by all major social media platforms. When you connect a platform:
- You click Connect in ShareWiseAI
- You are redirected to the platform's official login and authorization page
- You sign in to your account (if not already signed in) and approve the permissions ShareWiseAI requests
- You are redirected back to ShareWiseAI with a confirmation that the connection was successful
ShareWiseAI never sees or stores your social media passwords. The platforms provide a secure token that lets ShareWiseAI post on your behalf. You can revoke this access at any time from either ShareWiseAI or the platform itself.
Connecting Each Platform
- Go to Platforms and click Connect next to Facebook
- Sign in to Facebook if prompted
- Select the Facebook Page(s) you want ShareWiseAI to manage (you must be an admin of the page)
- Approve the requested permissions (publish posts, view insights)
- You will be redirected back to ShareWiseAI
Tip: ShareWiseAI connects to Facebook Pages, not personal profiles. Make sure your church has a Facebook Page set up before connecting.
- Go to Platforms and click Connect next to Instagram
- Sign in through Facebook (Instagram business accounts are connected via Facebook)
- Select the Instagram Business or Creator account linked to your Facebook Page
- Approve the requested permissions
Important: Instagram requires a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page. Personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected. Also, every Instagram post requires at least one image or video -- text-only posts are not supported by Instagram.
YouTube
- Go to Platforms and click Connect next to YouTube
- Sign in to your Google account that manages your church's YouTube channel
- Approve the requested permissions (manage videos, community posts)
- You will be redirected back to ShareWiseAI
Note: ShareWiseAI can publish community posts and manage video descriptions on your YouTube channel.
- Go to Platforms and click Connect next to LinkedIn
- Sign in to LinkedIn
- Select the LinkedIn Organization Page you want to manage (you must be an admin)
- Approve the requested permissions
Tip: Like Facebook, ShareWiseAI connects to LinkedIn Organization Pages, not personal profiles.
X (Twitter)
- Go to Platforms and click Connect next to X
- Sign in to your X (Twitter) account
- Approve the requested permissions (read and write access)
- You will be redirected back to ShareWiseAI
Note: X has strict character limits (280 characters for standard posts). The compose screen shows a live character count for X.
Threads
- Go to Platforms and click Connect next to Threads
- Sign in through your Instagram account (Threads uses Instagram credentials)
- Approve the requested permissions
- Go to Platforms and click Connect next to Pinterest
- Sign in to your Pinterest business account
- Approve the requested permissions (create pins, manage boards)
- You will be redirected back to ShareWiseAI
Tip: Pinterest posts (pins) work best with vertical images. Upload portrait-oriented images for best results.
TikTok
- Go to Platforms and click Connect next to TikTok
- Sign in to your TikTok account
- Approve the requested permissions
- You will be redirected back to ShareWiseAI
Note: TikTok is primarily a video platform. ShareWiseAI can help with captions and descriptions for your video content.
Platform Limits by Plan
The number of platforms you can connect depends on your plan:
| Plan | Connected Platforms |
|---|---|
| Free | 3 |
| Pro | 5 |
| Business | 8 (all platforms) |
| Agency | 8 (all platforms) |
When you reach your platform limit, you will see "Upgrade to connect" next to additional platforms. Upgrade your plan to connect more.
Disconnecting a Platform
To disconnect a platform:
- Go to Platforms
- Find the connected account you want to remove
- Click Disconnect
- Confirm the disconnection
Warning: Disconnecting a platform will cause any scheduled posts for that platform to fail. Make sure you have published or removed any pending posts before disconnecting.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
"Connection failed" error: This usually means the authorization was denied or timed out. Try again and make sure you approve all requested permissions.
Platform not showing as connected after authorization: This can happen if you closed the browser window before the redirect completed. Go back to Platforms and try connecting again.
"Upgrade to connect" even though you have slots remaining: Refresh the page. If the issue persists, sign out and sign back in to refresh your subscription status.
Platform shows "expired" status: Some platforms require periodic re-authorization. Click Disconnect, then Connect again to refresh the token.
