Planning Center Integration

Connect Planning Center to ChurchWiseAI for real-time access to events and groups

Available on the Voice Pro plan and the Voice + Chat Bundle.

Planning Center is a popular church management platform used by thousands of churches to manage people, events, groups, giving, and more. Connecting it to ChurchWiseAI lets your voice agent answer caller questions using live data from your Planning Center account.

What the Integration Does

Once connected, your voice agent gains read-only access to:

  • Events — Upcoming services, special events, community gatherings, and activities with dates, times, and locations
  • Groups — Small groups, Bible studies, ministry teams, and other groups people can join

That is it. The integration reads events and groups only. ChurchWiseAI never creates, edits, or deletes data in your Planning Center account.

What We Do NOT Access

To be clear about what stays private:

  • Financial and giving data — We do not access tithes, offerings, pledges, budgets, or any financial records
  • Individual member data — We do not access personal contact information, addresses, or phone numbers
  • Check-in data — We do not access attendance or check-in records
  • Donation history — We do not access individual or aggregate giving amounts

Your congregation's personal and financial information stays entirely within Planning Center.

How to Connect

  1. Open your admin dashboard at churchwiseai.com/admin/[your-token]
  2. Go to the Settings tab
  3. Scroll to the Integrations section
  4. Click Connect Planning Center
  5. You will be redirected to Planning Center's authorization page
  6. Log in with your Planning Center admin credentials
  7. Click Allow to grant ChurchWiseAI read access
  8. You will be redirected back to your dashboard with a confirmation message

The connection is immediate. Your voice agent can start using Planning Center data right away.

What Callers Can Ask

With Planning Center connected, callers can ask questions like:

  • "What events do you have coming up?"
  • "When is the next potluck dinner?"
  • "Do you have any small groups I can join?"
  • "Is there a group for young adults?"
  • "What time is your Wednesday night service?"

The agent pulls real-time event and group data from Planning Center to give accurate, specific answers.

Disconnecting

To disconnect Planning Center:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations in your dashboard
  2. Click Disconnect Planning Center
  3. Confirm the disconnection

After disconnecting, your voice agent will no longer reference Planning Center data when answering calls. You can reconnect at any time by following the connection steps again.

Troubleshooting

The agent gives outdated event information

Planning Center data is accessed in real time. If the agent seems out of date, verify the event details are correct in Planning Center itself. If the problem persists, try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration.

Authorization failed

Make sure you are logging in with a Planning Center account that has admin permissions. Standard user accounts may not have the required access level.

Token expired

Planning Center access tokens can expire. If the integration stops working:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations in your dashboard
  2. Click Reconnect Planning Center
  3. Complete the authorization flow again

This refreshes the connection with a new token.

I connected but the agent does not mention my events

Make sure your events in Planning Center are published and set to visible. Draft or private events may not be accessible through the integration.
