Common billing questions about ChurchWiseAI subscriptions, payments, trials, and plan changes

Here are answers to the most common billing questions we receive.

Do you offer annual pricing?

Not yet. All ChurchWiseAI plans are currently billed monthly. We plan to introduce annual pricing in the future, and it will include a discount compared to monthly billing. We will announce it when it is available.

Is there a free trial?

It depends on the product:

  • Voice Agent — No free trial. Each church requires dedicated Twilio phone infrastructure that costs us to provision, so we cannot offer a free voice trial. However, you can hear the voice agent in action by calling our demo line at +1 (469) 615-2221 before subscribing.
  • Chatbot — Yes, all chatbot plans include a 14-day free trial. A card is required at signup, but you will not be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial at no cost.

Can I pause my subscription?

We do not currently offer a pause option. If you need a break, you can cancel your subscription and reactivate later. Your data is retained for 90 days after cancellation, so you will not lose your call history or settings if you come back within that window.

What payment methods do you accept?

All payments are processed through Stripe. We accept:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Most debit cards

We do not currently accept ACH bank transfers, PayPal, or checks. Please note that Stripe is currently in test mode during our early access period.

Do you charge per call or per chat message?

No. All plans include a generous monthly allowance at a flat rate:

  • Voice Starter — up to 100 calls per month
  • Voice Pro — up to 500 calls per month
  • Chat Starter — up to 200 conversations per month
  • Chat Pro, Chat Suite, and Bundle — unlimited conversations

There are no per-call or per-message surcharges.

Can I change plans mid-month?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time:

  • Upgrades take effect immediately. You are charged a prorated amount for the remaining days in your billing cycle.
  • Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You keep your current plan's features until then.

Will I be charged tax?

Sales tax may apply depending on your location. Stripe calculates and applies any required taxes automatically during checkout. The tax amount (if any) is shown before you confirm payment.

How do I update my payment method?

  1. Open your admin dashboard at churchwiseai.com/admin/[your-token]
  2. Go to the Upgrade tab
  3. Click Manage Billing (this opens your Stripe customer portal)
  4. Update your card or payment method
  5. Click Save

What happens if my payment fails?

If a payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.):

  1. Stripe will retry the charge a few times over the next several days
  2. You will receive an email notification about the failed payment
  3. If the payment is not resolved, your subscription will be paused
  4. Update your payment method in the Stripe customer portal to restore access

Your data is not deleted due to a failed payment. Once you update your payment method, everything is restored.

Can I get a receipt for my payments?

Yes. Stripe automatically sends email receipts for every payment. You can also access all your invoices and receipts through the Stripe customer portal:

  1. Go to the Upgrade tab in your dashboard
  2. Click Manage Billing
  3. View and download invoices under Billing History

Is my church's payment information secure?

Yes. We never see or store your card number. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI Level 1 certified — the highest level of security in the payment industry. Your payment details go directly to Stripe's servers.

Can multiple people share one subscription?

Yes. Your ChurchWiseAI subscription is for your church, not for an individual. You can add multiple team members to your dashboard with different roles (admin, office admin, care team, prayer team, and more). Everyone shares the same voice agent and chatbot — there is no per-user charge.

Do I need PewSearch to use ChurchWiseAI?

No. ChurchWiseAI is a fully standalone product. You purchase a plan at churchwiseai.com, manage everything from your admin dashboard at churchwiseai.com/admin/[your-token], and your voice agent and chatbot work independently. PewSearch is an optional church directory that can surface your chatbot on your directory listing if you happen to have both, but it is not required.

What are the six dashboard tabs?

Your admin dashboard at churchwiseai.com/admin/[your-token] has six tabs:

  1. Overview — At-a-glance stats and recent activity
  2. Calls — Call logs, transcripts, recordings, and AI summaries
  3. Requests — Prayer requests, callback requests, and visitor contacts
  4. Care — Care messaging for pastoral follow-up
  5. Settings — Church profile, voice agent configuration, integrations
  6. Upgrade — Plan management, billing, and subscription changes

Is SMS messaging available?

Not yet. We are working on SMS support, but it is pending 10DLC carrier approval. We will let you know as soon as it becomes available.
